Welcome To Thiyagarajar Kalai Kovil

Bharathanatyam; much more than a style of dance, it is also introduced as a great tool for identifying the fullest potential of children through expressions, sharing, creative development, understanding of values and improving emotional intelligence. The art of Bharatham carries a much deeper meaning beyond the body movements  that meet the eye. The goal of each of these moves is to manifest the inner power which leads to a tranquil and content life. This would in turn ensure the physical, psychological, social and spiritual wellbeing of the dancer.

Reasons Why Children Should Learn Bharathanatyam

Children are the source of happiness and joy for all loving parents. Their laughter, innocence, mischief in their eyes and their innate nature to imitate elders bring an
instant smile to our face and as parents it brims your heart with content and
gusto. Childhood is indeed the perfect age for any kind of learning to happen.
Their minds are fresh and body teems with energy and enthusiasm. Bharathanatyam is one such dance form that can be learnt from the age of four for any child irrespective of gender. There are a plethora of benefits in learning this
classical dance form and we have listed below the reasons for your child to pursue this magnificent dance form.

Augments The Mind for learning

Bharathanatyam helps in improving the mental faculties of the children. The subtle movements of the feet along with the hand-eye coordination in the adavu (steps) help the child to have a lucid and sharp mind. It is indeed difficult for children to concentrate for childhood is that funny age where your mind is unchained and it roams like free a bird with no strings attached. So, by learning Bharathanatyam the child is trained to concentrate, and this will in turn help him/her to perform well in their academics. .

Life of discipline, devotion and passion

By learning Bharathanatyam children enter a life of discipline, devotion and passion. Being a dance form that blends dance, music and theatre, Bharathanatyam is an activity that instills poise and self-improvisation in children.
Let your children pursue Bharathanatyam and see the positive difference in them. By doing so, you will not only ensure the continuity of the legacy of this dance form to the next generation but also help your child in their personal growth.
