Thiyagarajar Kalaikovil has orchestrated countless performances both
internationally and island wide over the past years. The following are some of the notable performances by the school.
Notable Productions
- “Viloondri Kuravanchi”
- The dance drama “Viloondri Kuravanchi” was staged in the international arena “World Hindu Conference 2003” had been selected as the show stopper of the day and awarded 50,000 cash on the spot by the Hindu Culture Minister
- “Viloondri Kuravanchi” dance drama was staged in Sivakasi, India, for “International Bharathi Panatu Muthamil Vizha”
- “Viloondri Kuravanchi” dance drama was performed for “Ulaha Tamizh Isai Manadu” in “Madurai Tamil Sangam” and was awarded the title “Tamil Isai Nadanathendral” by Tamil Nadu Government
- “Viloondri Kuravanchi” dance drama was performed for International Conference on Murugabakthi organized by Hindu Culture Ministry
- “Sivahamiyin Sabatham”
- “Sivahamiyin Sabatham” dance drama was staged in Sri Lanka. It was an international production as the orchestra and the screen play artists were joined together from Sri Lanka and India
- “Sivahamiyin Sabatham” dance drama was also staged in Singapore
- “Soorasamharam”
- “Soorasamharam” dance drama was performed for “Muthu Vizha” function of Ramanathan Hindu Ladies College
- “Gnanakulandhai”
- A story about the divine poet and one of the 63 nayanars of Hinduism, Thirugnanasambandar performed for the “Vaanavil” function of Ramanathan Hindu Ladies College “Mannum Magalum”
- “Karaikal Ammayar”
- “Karaikal Ammayar” dance drama was performed for “Thirumurai Manadu” organized by Hindu Culture Ministry
- “Nandanar Sarithiram”
- “Nandanar Sarithiram” dance drama was performed in an National event organized by Hindu Culture Ministry
- “Kannapa Nayanar”
- “Kannapa Nayanar” dance drama was performed in an event organized by Colombo Tamil sangam
- Performed for “Bharathalaya” at Colombo Ramakrishna
- In the year of 2003, 2004, 2005, 2015, 2019 performed for All Island “Kamban Kalagam Adal Vellvi” Festival
Further notable achievements by the Founder
- The Government of Sri Lanka awarded her the title “Deshabhandhu” in appreciation of her services to performing arts on 21.06.2015
- Was awarded the title “Kalai Chudar” by Hindu Culture Ministry
- Many of her students have won scholarships to Kalashesthra, India and passed with first class
- Two Dance dramas “Sivahamiyin Sabatham” and Viloondri Kuravanji have been selected by the Eastern University for the B.F.A final year student’s research dissertation
- During her time as Bharathanatyam subject teacher at her school, she has received plenty of awards for dance dramas and programs choreographed and trained by her in national, provincial, district and zonal levels. In total she has received 5 national level gold medals, 5 national level silver medals, 5 provincial level prizes, 1 district level prize and 1 zonal level prize
- Has been featured in many TV, radio, paper and magazine Interviews
- Acted as judge for various competitions and exams
- The Government of Sri Lanka awarded her the title “Kalabhimani” in appreciation of her services to performing arts on 18.11.2022
